I chose Scholar for this personal project.
I created a 2D animated black and white logo for Scholar that expresses their studio's personality. Clean and sophisticated design while balancing expressive and thoughtful animation.
Idea Exploration
Flowy, smooth 2D animation will always be my favorite skill, so I decided to take this opportunity and make a concept that utilizes that skill. I tested out the design to see if it works within the ratios as seen above.

Animation Process
Blocking
I blocked out the animation first before finalizing it. I animated the linework in order to make it easier for me to fill it in later on.
2nd Pass
Now it's time to fill it in.
There were too many jagged, sharp edges and pointy drip ends that needed to be rounded out. Another thing I decided to do was to give the sequence a sense of progression, so for the final video, the first shot will be a still close-up. Giving the beginning a bit of mystery before revealing that it was the logo all along. Overall, the animation came out great!
